JOB VACANCY – SHE COORDINATOR
We are seeking to hire a qualified and dedicated Brewery Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Coordinator based in Gisenyi, reporting to the Brewery Manager.
JOB PURPOSE
The Brewery SHE Coordinator ensures the organisation is driving for continuous improvement to achieve and sustain zero accidents and zero incidents.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES.
1. SAFETY, FOOD SAFETY, AND SUSTAINABILITY
Showing example behaviour regarding Safety and Sustainability.
Supporting the Brewery manager in leading the Safety Pillar.
2. RISK ASSESSMENT
Plans and executes the High-Level Risk Assessments and countermeasures
Introduces the Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) for contractors.
3. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the investigation of accidents and incidents and defines roles and responsibilities in this process.
4. SAFETY COMPLIANCE
Ensures that preventive observation is done by managers, supervisors, and specialists (Behaviour-Based-Safety progression).
5. GOVERNANCE & PERFORMANCE
Ensures further development of the Daily / Monthly / Yearly control system (safety tags, near misses, safe/unsafe behaviours, etc.)
6. ORGANIZATION AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Effectively organises the safety department and manages the Safety Emergency, First Aid, Process Safety, and BBS champions, including champion selection and appointment in accordance with the Heineken procedures.
7. SAFETY TRAINING
Ensures training of employees, managers, and contractors in BBS, preventive observations, and LMRA.
Ensures further development of safety champions by means of extra training according to the Capability Development Framework.
8. SAFE OPERATIONS
Organises the validation of safety instructions (SOPs, OPLs, etc.).
9. QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Labour Safety/Law, Environment Engineering, or related field.
At least 3-5 years of working experience in occupational or process safety, preferably with 3 years of relevant experience in the food and beverages industry
Strong preference for experience in safety compliance, safety culture and behaviour, contractor management, process safety, and safety training and/ or emergency response.
Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda (both verbal and written).
The NEBOSH General Certificate is an advantage
