Request For Proposals (RFP) For External Audit Services Tender at Wellspring Academy

Wellspring Academy is an international Christian school based in Kigali, Rwanda, committed to academic excellence and holistic development. The school invites qualified and experienced audit firms to submit proposals for the audit of its financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025.

Scope of Work:

The selected audit firm will:

• To generate the consolidated income statement & expenditure statement and balance sheet for the financial year of 2025 from available records stored in QuickBooks format 
• To confirm on the basis, if all incomes, expenditures, assets and liabilities are properly recorded in the books of accounts 
• To express an opinion on the financial statement of Wellspring Academy in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards
• To ensure management letters as a by-product of the audit, commenting on the weaknesses in the accounting system and controls as well as recommendations for improvement.
• To report on the compliance with the provisions of the Wellspring Academy Financial Management guidelines and recommendations of the previous years’ audit.
• For the tax compliance, perform a tax health check/review of Wellspring Academy.
• Any other services that may be assigned by the Wellspring board 

• Conduct an independent audit in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Assess internal controls and provide appropriate recommendations.

Deliverables:

• Auditor's report/opinion.
• Management letter with observations and recommendations.
• Work plan and timeline.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Legally registered and licensed to practice in Rwanda.
• At least 3 years of proven experience auditing schools or non-profit institutions.
• Not have audited Wellspring Academy in the last three (3) years.
• Ability to complete the audit within agreed timelines.

Submission Requirements:

Interested firms should submit the following:

• Company profile and proof of registration.
• Details of similar assignments in the past 3 years.
• CVs of key audit staff.
• Financial and technical proposal.
• Declaration confirming the firm has not audited Wellspring Academy in the past 3 years.

Note: Any firm that has audited Wellspring Academy in the last three years is not eligible to apply. Only shortlisted firms will be contacted.

Duration of assignment 

Your report should be finalized within 45 days after commencement of the audit 

Evaluation and proposals 

The criteria for selection of successful proposal will include general experience, reputation of the individual/ firm, qualification of staff to be assigned to the audit, quality of audit reports issued in the past and audit fee.
