JOB DETAILS:

Child Adoption and Orphans Specialist
Level:3.II
Job description
• Oversee the preparation, implementation, revision and dissemination of policy and legal framework governing adoption,
• Initiate the child’s adoption documentation system and record keeping (birth certificate, notary act, police report, medical report, family report, consents, report from orphanage, death certificate, act of abandonment),
• Establish counseling programs for the involved parties in the Child adoption process
• Liaise and collaborate with various stakeholders
• Analyze adoption applications/requests and send letter of non-objection (verification of documents about PAPs: complete, authentic, acceptable),
• Coordinate matching events, ensure close follow up suitability of PAP for child
• Coordinate the capacity building and strengthening of the local leaders on policies, legal frameworks governing adoption,
• Compile, analyze and keep the post placement reports,
• Approve certificate of adoption/travel release,
• Manage the post adoption reporting system
• Lead the implementation of the 1993 Hague Adoption Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption,

• Master's Degree in Law
