Software Tester

About Us
You’ll be part of our Quality Assurance team, where we safeguard the quality, stability, and usability of our products. We work directly with developers and product designers to ensure that our clients always get the best trading experience.

As a Software Tester at Deriv, you’ll ensure the reliability of our applications by identifying our business requirements and engaging in the quality control of our software from the product development to deployment stage. Your strong automation proficiency and excellent critical and analytical skills are crucial in delivering the best version of every product: optimised, functional, and agile.


Your challenges
• Champion continuous software quality improvement by executing manual and automated tests on our websites, applications, back-end infrastructure, and systems.
• Detect bugs in our product lifecycle, implement automated testing frameworks, and develop comprehensive tests to integrate into the build pipeline by using Selenium or Robot Framework.
• Drive innovation by developing and performing detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans based on system requirements.
• Ensure third-party data is accurately interpreted and processed by testing third-party APIs on our platforms.
• Increase our product quality by designing, maintaining, and creating test scripts to address critical areas such as software scenarios, regression testing, error or bug retests, and negative testing.
• Drive knowledge transfer and consistency by updating and documenting internal processes and manual guides of the Quality Assurance team.
• Assist the team lead to define automation strategy and share your product knowledge with the Customer Support team.


Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of technical education, training, and work experience
• Ability to write high-quality, self-documenting code using test-driven development techniques
• Experience in designing and executing test plans (both automated and manual)
• Experience with agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban
• Strong knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
• Extensive knowledge of continuous integration testing
• Passion for Linux and other open-source platforms
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills

What’s Good To Have
• Experience in automation testing frameworks such as Robot Framework and Selenium
• Experience with PostgreSQL or another RDBMS
• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS
• Experience in performance and load testing
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages, preferably Perl, but we also accept Python, PHP, C/C++, and the like

UX/UI Designer

Role Brief:
Create the B2B experiences for new workstreams within our Pulse software ecosystem. Deliver clean and artful design that works well in a low bandwidth internet environment. Be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artefacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.

This role requires extensive collaboration and persuasion skills to influence others and respond positively to different points of view. It also requires deep empathy with a wide range of cultures and work patterns to deliver a design that works for all. Travel to field sites around Africa to engage directly with end users will be required approximately 4-6 times per year, typically for no longer than 1 week per visit. Responsibilities
• Collaborate with product management and front-end software teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
• Lead the process of turning ideas into workable models that can be handed off to software engineering for your assigned projects
• Execute all stages of UX/UI design process from concept to final hand-off to engineering
• Conduct user research and user testing to deeper understand their needs and behaviours.
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Present designs and key deliverables to a wide variety of stakeholders and incorporate any relevant feedback to reach a final design.
• Use brand design guidelines, design system, best practices, and standards
• Pro-actively propose areas that need design improvement within the product.
• Develop and communicate the design philosophy around Pulse so that everyone can see and understand how the different design choices combine

Requirements
• Proven 5+ years of UX/UI experience
• Demonstrable UX/UI design skills with a strong portfolio
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
• Proficiency in visual design and wire-framing tools, ideally Figma to easily share your design to FE Engineers
• Experience building/maintaining a design system
• Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Up to date with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or relevant experience.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
