Job description
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts and Ensure compliance with financial rules and regulations
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Review entries and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
• Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions with in designated limits.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annually according to procedures
• Adhere to internal and external reporting deadlines.
• Be responsible for tax obligations
• Review of accounts payables and weekly check runs
• Monitor compliance with financial rules and regulations in forth and institutional procedures
• Daily and monthly report and reconciliations
• Reports, analyses and ensure integrity of all financial information.
• Contribute to the hospital environmental hygiene
• Participating in quality assurance and quality improvement of the hospital.
• Submit monthly, quarterly and annually report to the supervisor
• Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate line Manager.

B. Responsibilities:

1. Teaching
• Prepare subjects to be taught as presented in modules
• Teach subjects in his area of specialization
• Evaluate students through continual assessment tests and examinations

2. Research & innovation
• Prepare research proposals in line with his/her area of specialization and institutional thematic areas
• Attract internal and external funding for research
• Conduct research activities aiming at solving community problems
• Publish research results at national, regional and international levels
• Supervise/co-supervise PhD and Masters students and Postdoctoral fellows

3.Community Outreach
• Disseminate research findings to relevant stakeholders

C. Requirements:
• PhD in Food Packaging Technology or PhD in Food Science/Food Technology with MSc in Food Packaging or related discipline
• Showing a proof of publication in recognized peer reviewed journals (at least 2 publication points for the position of Lecturer or at least 5 points for the position of Senior Lecturer)
• Having proof of teaching experience from a recognized institution of higher learning ( at least 3 years as Lecturer for the position of Senior Lecturer)
• Having supervised at least 2 Masters students for food science and technology or related program (for the position of Senior Lecturer).
• Having Proficiency in Packaging design and development, design the Label for food packaged materials, Modified atmosphere packaging, intelligent packaging, fabrication, etc.
• 6.Being a proactive teacher, who is professional with teamwork skills and have the ability to conduct research independently.

• Writing and processing of transfer payments once authorized as per limits;

• Assist in following up reconciliation items with HO and branches;

• Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them
• Plan for disaster recovery in the event of any security breaches
• Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized or illegal activity
• Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues
• Ensure the Access control is properly installed on the designated doors and access matrix is applied and monitored.
• Responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive Information security and privacy plan for Umwalimu SACCO by ensuring that electronic information created, acquired and maintained by its authorized users, it used in accordance with its intended purpose, to protect Umwalimu SACCO’s information and infrastructure from external and internal threats.
